The argument against the crossing existing is that as only 20 peds and 40 cyclists per day use the Rotherhithe Tunnel, that no demand exists for a bridge.
No argument considering how unpleasant the tunnel is. Many people detour to Tower Bridge which is a significant distance

A common false argument against segregated tracks on main roads...

That is such a dumb assed argument - who is responsible for making it ?
I am surprised that it is as many as 20 peds and 40 cyclists per day - must be lost.

The point to make, of course, is that 'alternatives' are used--people go via Tower Bridge, the Greenwich Foot Tunnel, maybe even by ferry, or they take public transport, precisely because at present no good alignment exists. The Rotherhithe Tunnel is a sideshow for numerous other reasons.

Is this design a good one? There’s no doubt it’s needed, the queues for trains at rush hour at Canary Wharf are huge and then half the people get off at Canada Water.

It could be turn up and go, but it's more likely to be run by a bunch of jobsworths who keep you waiting for ages in the rain just because the manual fails to say they shouldn't.

Responses would be appreciated to highlight that a crossing would be good, used... and that alternatives are not used due to safety, pollution, etc.
