I've sent them a few things back and they always ask for photos, I think it's one of their procedures to stop people trying it on, they asked my to take a photo of the wobble in my wheels...

Ha! amazing! OK well I've no issue sending them a photo so we'll see how that goes.
Have they always honoured your claims? Have you had to send stuff back? -

Yeah I've sent them a few things, and I've had no issues. They replaced my frame with out any quibbling, took a while though, but they did completely rebuild the bike.

Cool, OK thanks. I won't give up hope just yet and just go through the motions.

Well well well; I reluctantly sent a photo of the bottom bracket, which just looks like any other used bottom bracket but with the addition of some very dodgy looking threads.
A day later and CRC have offered a refund and don't want me to send the faulty item back.
So still an episode I'd rather not repeat nor wish on anyone else but I got my money back and ultimately have a DA BB instead of the 105 so all is good again!
Has anyone here had experience with a CRC warranty claim? I've had moderate success with their customer services before but I'm wondering if warranties are handled by a higher level of idiots!?
I bought a 105 BB5500 bottom bracket from them to replace a track-only BB7700. Generally reviews were favourable apart from one where a guy said the threads on his had been cut out of spec and the BB was far too tight in the BB shell.
Well, sods law, the BB I received also displayed this problem. I've fitted millions of the things so I know there can be a variance between 'spinning them all the way in with a few twists of the hand' and 'having to wind every thread in by hand until your wrist gets tired'! but this thing was clearly cut wrong!
The thread pitch was fine but just WAY too damn tight.
Luckily the aluminium cups were softer than butter so although a little graunched, didn't damage the threads in the frame.
Subsequently I bought a DA-7710 which has steel cups and fitted like a dream.
So, I raised a warranty claim with CRC and got the automated response (Saturday). Today (Wednesday) I get an email asking me to send a photo of the defect!
I mean how the fuck does one photograph a 'tight bottom bracket'?
Do they want to see a photo of me sweating while leaning on a breaker bar?
Ridiculous! I've no issue sending the old POS back but I've kind of got the feeling I might be wasting my time. It wasn't even a lot of money but if they don't investigate there could be some seriously angry punters out there fucking up their frames.....
