  • Scoot is building up her first cross bike, we still need more of the parts. Price is important. These are the things we need:

    Seatpost
    27.2, black.

    Stem
    80mm, black.

    Brake levers
    Hydraulic, 10 speed.

    Handlebars
    shortest reach possible, black.

    Rear derailleur
We're going 1x 10, so 10 speed, with a clutch and works up to 36t.

  • @Velocio what's going on with this code thing? I've not put in the ``` part for it anywhere.

  • Three spaces at the beginning of a line, in Markdown, indicates a line of code.

  • Ah right, thank you.

  • You could buy / perma loan @Doctor_Cake ‘s Kinesis

  • I've got a black 80mm Pro LT (6°) stem you can have for a tenner.

  • I take that please for a beer if @sumo doesn't want it.

  • Jess already has a frame, it's just been sat here with nothing on it. Shouldn't take much to get it up and running. Thank you for the offer.

  • Any reason why you're restricting yourself to 10 speed? Most Shimano and all SRAM hydraulic road shifters are 11 speed, as far as I'm aware, so your more likely to find those second hand.

  • Deda rhm02 38cm £5?

  • Cheap wheels were 10 speed. Although the cassette body could be changed. The levers are going to be the hardest part to sort so things can change depending on what's available.

  • Do you even Shimano HG800?

  • oooh nice, thanks for the heads up.

  • Actually all 11speed MTB cassettes fit 10 speed hubs.

  • Yes please! DM incoming.

  • Get them Acor / Juintec hybrids and use SRAM ten speed stuff. Brilliant and cheap as chips.

  • Are they actually though? I had cable discs on my CAADX until recently and they left a lot to be desired, and by 'a lot' I mean 'actually stopping the bike'.

  • with good cables and rotors ya more than adequate for racing

  • SRAM S700 is hydro and 10sp. But near impossible to get hold of.

  • Hydraulics are much, much better, but a pair of Spyres with decent pads will provide enough stopping power.

    Just don't get BB7s.

  • I have a set of Juins, and a set of TRP Hy//RD for sale at some point.

  • Scoot is taking this one, I have another which is basically the same but a Pro PLT you can have, it's currently on my bike until I switch it for a 100mm, will try to do it before ACH drinks this month.

  • SRAM S700 is hydro and 10sp. But near impossible to get hold of.

And spendy if you do find them. And no way to figure out if the recall work was done.

Wouldn't bother myself. Either go 11speed full hyrdro and spend all your money or go SRAM ten speed cable +MTB mech and give yourself a pat on the back for having an excellent set up and not breaking the bank.

@sumo I'll be at HH today if you want to try my Spyre'd bike.

  • i've got one of those specialized womens expert alloy short reach handlebars in 38cm, brand new. Paid £35, so maybe £25 posted? or shoot me an offer.

    edit:
also have a 38cm deda rhm01 - you can have for a fiver
and a fizik black seatpost 27.2mm
