Change in direction - 2018 TT build

  • So, after a season plagued with illness, crashes and almost-crashes I've decided to give TT a go next year. I've done quite a bit of road racing this year, both crits and proper road races and in all honesty it's put me off bunch racing. The standard of riding in the races I'm doing is so bad its more luck than judgement that I end up driving home afterwards with both me and the bike in one piece. At 37 I don't bounce like I used to. That said I do enjoy racing and I'd only get fat(ter) if I stopped training for it so its time for a change. Hence TT's..

So, as I've already got another decent(ish) road bike I thought I'd convert my current race bike (which isn't decent) into a TT bike. Initially it'll start off with just some tri-bars and I'll be looking for a daft helmet and skinsuit to cram myself into. However I'm a firm believer in training on what you race so I'll be hopefully changing this over the winter to something a bit more aero.

As it currently stands, this is what it looks like. Highlights include a Stages power meter and some half decent wheels. Low lights include the fact its a Planet X frame which is garbage and flexes like a mutha flipper. So right now I'm on the hunt for a frameset and some bars. The wheels can wait until next year, right now I just want to get the position sorted.

Any links to frames would be appreciated. I'm a tall mother hubbard at 6ft2, so it'll need to be a big un...
