Freecycle: Dave Hinde with issues

  • Bought this originally as a road bike for my girlfriend but after her commuter got stolen this had to be her commuter until a new one was found. Needless to say that didnt happen for another year or so, hence the poor condition, which really is a shame for such a nice bike and paintjob

The frame is 53cm square and built from Columbus Neuron tubing.

The bad bits: I couldnt remove the stem, although I did not try very hard and I have no tools such as a vice at my disposal so you might get it out without chemicals etc. When I tried removing the seatpost the top part came off as it was a cheap 2 piece construction with the head just bonded on. The result is that I can't remove the seatpost either as there is very little surface to grip on left and all I have are some pliers.
At this point I stopped and decided to offer it here. Therefore I have no idea if the BB will casue similar issues. Mostly parts bin build otherwise, please ask if you have any questions

Pick up in Shoreditch during the evenings or most of the day on Friday. As I am moving house I would need it gone by then.

  • Dibs

  • 2nd dibs if you can't make it work...

  • 3rd dibs

  • 4th dibs! :D

    This is unlikely, isn't it.

  • will take those guards, if buyer doesn't want them

  • Not heard back from my PM yet but don't need the guards. If I manage to get this, they're yours

  • even more unlikely 5th dibs

  • Oooh, that's a shame - used to be mine so a bit sad to see it in this condition - hopefully someone will breathe new life into it - it's a lovely frame!

  • thanks man

  • My thoughts exactly. Such a shame, hence the freecycle to someone who will hopefully restore it to its former glory!

@psg1ben has arranged collection, if it falls through I will update this thread

  • Still looks like a lovely frame to me....bikes are there to be ridden after all. I popped into Isombards Cycles yesterday who specialise in this sort of thing so they might be able to help if your struggle @psg1ben

  • Thanks for the advice!
    :)

  • has been collected now
