Just out of interest @Dick what's been your tactic re trying shoes, do you just order different brands en masses and send back whatever doesn't fit right at home, do you ride use them for a ride or two then send them back? or is there some temple of road shoes that has hem all in stock and while away a day (or two) trying everything to your hearts content? Only asking because I'm about to embark on said journey. Suffice to say I'm not looking forward to it.

Don't go to shops just to try. If you want to buy online then order online and return. Use Wiggle they do free collect plus.

...and for recent orders I have placed if you select delivery by Collect plus it is effectively free overnight delivery...

I have basically ordered, ridden and then sold said shoes. i have tried to do it as efficiently as possible, where available using money off codes, classifieds for barely used / new shoes, but really, as is a very bad habit of mine, I've bought them new because they looked to better suit my needs (or were more shiny). I'd say I've gone through every reputable footwear manufacturer including a lot of the lesser knowns, and only have one shoe that is like Cinderella's slipper and that's the S-Works line. Still have two pairs of the old version aswell I use for spinning. Not particularly because my feet are weird, but because I've never found a shoe which supports the heel and upper/mid food so well, yet leaves the toes space to move, breathe and be comfortable.

Weigh a tonne, the heels are too sloppy, the lining too spongy and the toes way too narrow, also size variation is huge even between the same model - cheap finish for such an expensive shoe

didnt bother - too ugly

it's true they are mostly miss and not very grammable outside of northern italy.

Do they come out a small 43? What Uk size do you normally take?

I'd say they're a very normal and true to size road shoe 43. I've only ever worn a 43 in Road shoes and all Specialized shoes I have including some MTB and winter shoes are all 43, as are all the Shimano shoes I've ever had across all disciplines, come to think of it I think every road shoe I've bought has been a 43 or 42.5.
I take anything from a 41 to a 44 'normal shoe' depending on brand and shoe type, but find correlation between Road shoe size a lot closer than say trainers - converse - loafer - work shoe - dress shoe - boot - etc

Thanks for the info, I take a 43 in specialized mtb shoes so I'm guessing these would be similar from your info.

Yeah I've had 43 in every Specialized shoe I've ever owned and find the sizes all the same
I've used these a matter of 5 times or so, and despite taking them on holiday with me for 10 days just last week with a perpetual 30deg+ (They were earmarked as my "best" shoes) I still stuck to my black pair and didn't wear them once.
Undoubtedly the comfiest shoes I've ever ridden - in the run up to buying (3 pairs of) these I tried every shoe going and none were as overall light, comfy and stiff, let alone as good looking.
The only slight superficial difference to these is that the boa dials have gone a slightly off - white, but I think I have a few replacements in the spares box that I'm happy to include.
