To mr. Sterobe:
And ... You are.....??? -

Very nice frame! love these soviet bikes, shame its too big. This is the "rekord" if i'm not mistaking. I have the "sport" and makes a great everyday ride. Worth mentioning headtube diameter is of an odd size on mine, had to use a shim to fit the headset properly. not sure if this is the same?

Still available? Where are you located?

AFAIK all the threads on these are odd sizes. It should make a nice bike. I've had 2 in the past.

What is the deal with the BB threads on these Russian frames? What will fit in?
-
• #19
Regular BSA. Just lot of grease, leverage, good quality tools and patience. :)
-
• #20
not regular BSA!
diameter is same as BSA but thread is metric, not inch standard and thread should be recut. If you don't recut it then in future you will broke it... But you can do it without recuting. On standard production frames like Start Shosse (or other city KhVZ frames) it works and they are made from "pipe" steel. But standard track models, like this one- Rekord, was made from better steel, and you can damage thread if you will not recut before...seat post size on standard production frames are 25.0, also on Rekord.
Speczakaz frames (Sport, Sprint, Meteor)- 26.2mmand headtube inner diameter is different, you'll need a shim

I used a threadless square taper BB and never tried a normal BB.
My research suggested it may be unusual so avoided the possible issue.

Bump for a nice seller. Like the frame but don't have enough stuff laying around to get this rolling and can't spend anymore on bike stuff atm...
-
• #23
how tall do i have to be for this frame to fit
-
• #24
maybe 5'7+
Depends on more factors than just height, which way you set it up will have a difference too.
What bikes do you currently have, what size are they and how well do they fit?

..
Hi all,
I have a lovely XB3 soviet era track frame for sale. 56cm square.
The paint at some point has been stripped leaving a lovely patina on the frame.
Really unusual lug work and nice touches on the frame.
I was going to make a daily workhorse from it as its far from the lightest bike I have had but it would certainly make a beautiful rat for someone.
Any questions please ask!
I'm after £80 for it
Collection from E5 or postage and paypal at buyers expense.
