Two things.
When I moved into the neighbourhood I got slapped in the head by a trucks mirror at the identical crossing just east from there. Shook me up a bit.
Also this morning there was a woman on the phone near the bus stop (and meters away from the crash site) moaning "Oh, its so annoying the traffic is blocked".
Had to remind her someone had been seriously hurt and she was having a cry about a bus.. people ffs. -

Shit. Fingers crossed. I really hate the channeling of traffic by railings, or like those new barriers they're putting up along the bridges.

Those bits forcing everyone suddenly into one lane are always shit.
Did you mean Eastbound rather than Westbound? Westbound still has the bus lane at the lights from what I remember so is a bit wider which would make it even worse happening that way.

I just live round the corner, I saw the police on my way to work but didn't know why they were there, I cut through the park before the roundabout because I've lost my back wheel twice going round it.
Thoughts with the rider.

Nope, westbound.

Yeah that roundabout..

Sounds worrying. I take it you mean Nightingale Lane rather than Nightingale Road?

The bus lane is eastbound, not westbound. The westbound lane narrows from about 4m at the bus stop to about 3.25m-3.5m (it's hard to tell exactly from StreetView) at the staggered crossing. This subtle narrowing may easily catch someone out.
Fingers crossed the rider isn't badly hurt.

Priory Road
Near Nightingale Lane. -

For context (from street view):
The cab came to a stop just after the traffic lights and the trailer was long enough to be next to the bus stop. -

Yes, looking at streetview I must have got it turned round in my head. Not a nice section of road.

I googled the incident and came across your post! I witnessed the immediate after math and called the emergency services but after they arrived I couldn't really do much, I believe the narrowing of the road played a big part in this incident. I sincerely hope the cyclist is ok

Hopefully no-news is good news.

This^. Well, as good as might be reasonable to hope for.
This one is close to home.
At the end of my block Priory Road westbound lane near junction with Nightingale Lane.
There is a bus stop next to a staggered crossing (with railings).
The road narrows at this point and this morning there was a articulated flatbed with a bicycle underneath the wheels halfway down its length.
Ambulance and Police in attendance (I must have arrived 10/15 mins after the incident).
Hope rider is ok, was not at side of road.
