Hi all,

This is one of the bikes I have just brought back from France, purchased from its original owner.

This is a 1979 pink Mercier bike, handmade with Columbus Aelle tubing, 54cm square so good for someone around 5ft8.

54cm, centre to centre, for both seat tube and top tube

The original deep pink colour (same as Poulidor's jersey at the time) is still intact with very minimal scrapes and marks and no dents. Slight pitting to the forks. All in, a very presentable bike!

I have just lightly cleaned and serviced so it is ready to roll. See before / after photos.

Gearset is 2x5 speeds with Solida cranks / Simplex RD / Sach Huret FD / Atom freewheel / new cables fitted
Brakes are CLB centre pull. I have fitted new cartridge pads at the front
Wheels are Normandy hub on steel rim at the back, a modern Rigida rim at the front fo greatly improved braking in the wet. Tyres are new 700x38mm (35mm width measured) Hutchinson
Cockpit is 80mm quill stem on 40cm bars with Shimano Exage Motion A251 aero levers (great hoods), wrapped in new white tape
-Saddle is a good San Marco Rolls in white - I also have the original Mercier saddle.

Being picky, I would say that the headset, bottom bracket and rear hub could do with a dismantle / degrease / regrease but it is riding well as it is.
The are mudguard eyes so it would be relatively easy to fit 28mm tyres & mudguards.

Price wise, I am after SOLD for £200 with both original black saddle and white Rolls for an extra £20.
