A RD isn't indexed which means the only limits to its movements are the limit screws. What governs how much it moves per click is the shifter, which is where I would imagine you will have difficulties as generally campag & shimano are differently spaced, aside from 11 speed.
For the front you could use whatever you wanted.

As it's single ring front based so should be OK just with rear. I am trying to read and see but seems like Shimano VS Campy cassette spacings are totally different.
It would be good to source Campy original flat bar shifters but I guess it will take ages.

Not that this is all that relevant, but I have a wheelset with Shimano hub and am running Campag Centaur 10spd everything else, using one of these - http://www.jejamescycles.com/ambrosio-cassette-shimano-spline-for-campag-spacing-10spd.html - it sets the correct spacing for the shifters using the splines that come with the hub. It's actually brilliant (and at £30 saved me a ton), so wonder if Ambrosio ever did a Campag to Shimano spacing solution in reverse?
I have tons of parts and was thinking to build 1x10 on drops but after thinking it through and hopefully rebuilding other bike for road purpose, this 1x10 becoming leisure with laid back bars to sit straight.
I have Campy 10 speed touring wheels with Campy 13-28 cassette, Centaur square chainset with 44T ring and Shimano RD-M770 XT which is 9 speed but I can theoretically think will shift to 10 spd if I get M780 shifter. Did anyone tried to do something like this? Would it be too complicated in the end because Shimcampy is not designed for such projects?
