Reverse gear?
You can just put any right side square taper crank on the left side.

Pedal threading would be incorrect though, unless I'm very confused?

That's correct, yes.
You would have to use two right pedals - no problem if you want flat pedals.
Otherwise change the spindle of the left pedal.
Or rethread the crank arm.I don't think you'll have problems with selftightening pedals if I guess the use of this project right. :)

I do have a couple of 165 sets hanging around so I guess I could test with them and flats first.
Be interesting to see if it blows up my WI freewheels...
There is a stupid project bike I've been wanting to build for years now but never got round to it, it involves two freewheels two chainrings so I'm looking for a left side chainset from a tandem set.
Something like THIS though cheaper if possible as this really is a bit of fun. Anyone got any unloved chainsets around?
