• There is a stupid project bike I've been wanting to build for years now but never got round to it, it involves two freewheels two chainrings so I'm looking for a left side chainset from a tandem set.

Something like THIS though cheaper if possible as this really is a bit of fun. Anyone got any unloved chainsets around?

  • Reverse gear?

You can just put any right side square taper crank on the left side.

  • Pedal threading would be incorrect though, unless I'm very confused?

  • That's correct, yes.
You would have to use two right pedals - no problem if you want flat pedals.
Otherwise change the spindle of the left pedal.
    Or rethread the crank arm.

I don't think you'll have problems with selftightening pedals if I guess the use of this project right. :)

  • I do have a couple of 165 sets hanging around so I guess I could test with them and flats first.

Be interesting to see if it blows up my WI freewheels...
