Pedal-thread-nightmare

Bought a pair of used Look Keo's, went to fit them tonight. First one spun on, no worries. Second one. Hmm, won't thread on. Tried it on another crank (so as not to bu**er up my Chorus one), no go. The pedal wanted to try and go in at an angle - not good. So took a close look and the first thread looks like it's 'flatter' (the only way I can describe it. Have tried to capture in the pics, so is there anything I can do to rescue it? Would there be a 'standard'(!) thread tap for it?
