Colnago Master Piu decor beach/pub bike project

  • I've had this frame sitting around for a couple of months now, after purchasing from a member of this forum. It was a pure luxury impulse buy that was too cool to pass up.
It's pretty beat up, with pitted chrome and a large stripped patch on the TT. It is however straight and dent free. There may be an issue with a potential crack on one of the lugs but that is yet to be confirmed.

SO i'm thinking of making this into a single speed beach/pub bike with a mix of bits i have already and some second hand forum/ebay parts.

I've thrown a few parts on it for some photos, nothing is set in stone though

  • One man's pub bike is another's Sunday best! Hope that the crack turns out to be a scratch or similar.

  • Single speed pub bike Master Piu?
This is sacrilege. Sell it to me, and it can be a road bike as Jesus intended. (and it's my size)

  • How ever ugly and beater ish the bike turns out to be, you can rest assured a recent returnee to this parish will be desperate to post it on the pictures of bieks thread.

  • Yeah, i hear you. I bought it with the intention of getting it sprayed and using it as my summer best. However the pant was a lot worse than i anticipated and there is a good chance it is cracked. It's been sitting in my workshop for months now, just want to get it going.

I'm not 100% set on single speed though, i might consider a single ring upfront 10 speed rear type of thing.

  • Deserves better shame on you.......

  • Rad. Don't listen to them. It was intended to be ridden, that's all. Needs wide risers

  • Problem solved?

  • This wouldn't be a pub bike if it were in better condition. I don't want to pour money into it only to be disappointed in the end because the paint is poor, or find that the crack is terminal.
I'm much happier to do it up on a budget and get riding, as opposed to just looking at it.

I'll try and post some decent photos of the crack/mark in question, see what others think.
