Three men with '12 inch blades'
Posted at 23:47 3 Jun
An eyewitness told LBC radio what he saw tonight. The taxi driver said: "A van came from London Bridge itself, went between the traffic light system and rammed it towards the steps. It knocked loads of people down.
"Then three men got out with long blades, 12 inches long and went randomly along Borough High Street stabbing people at random."

Has a cyclist or one of our community died?
-
• #13
This is surely an exception

No. Calm down.

Astonishing. Calm down? People have died.
-
• #16
There will have been other events in London with higher casualties.

People die all the time. It's the curse of being alive.

No black logo unless one of our community, or a cyclist within the M25 (whilst cycling) or a notable (to us) cyclist.
This is definitely scary shit, and definitely demands respect. But we did the black logo to give respect to those among us who died and it feels like a dilution of that respect to start doing it even when there is an exception like this. There are always exceptions and always will be. But I feel strongly that we need to limit it to people known to the community or who are part of the extended community of cyclists.

I've said that, and I think it's right. But I'm still shaken by it.
Rest in peace fellow Londoners.

As has been mentioned - the blanket publicity of these attacks is what the assholes want.
I wish the media would limit their coverage ( copy-cating etc. )

I agree. On average, 5 people a day are killed on the roads in the UK, yet we don't get blanket coverage and outrage at that.
Clearly though, as a London resident and regular user of London Bridge and visitor to Borough Market, this feels very, very close to home and my thoughts are with everyone who has been caught up in this. Now is the time to stand together and not let these extremists divide us.
Check the news.
Everyone on here safe?
