Is this terminal?

Just spotted this on the tyre, is it a dead 'un or is there something I can do?

Is that the casing showing through the tread? If so then yes, it's terminal.

I'd ride it if for commuting. Maybe make a boot for the inside from another old tyre or something?

It's not going to get any better but I would still ride it

You could ride and keep an eye on it. If the tube starts to bulge through the tyre then that's really the time to replace it.

It's my road bike for longer rides, best replace then. Thanks for the intel tho
