Cheap spd shoes. Size 45

My friend who is beginning cycling is look to get something cheap he can try out and see if that for him.
Ideally cheap and not smelly please. Size eu. 45

Perhaps mtb shoes? Recessed cleats make it possible to walk about without slipping.

As spd comes in both road and more relaxed way I'm going just to give all of the option to him and see which one he pick.

I have a pair of these DZR shoes in size 46 he could have in exchange for a beer. Quite a few scuffs and the colour is gross, but apart from that they're decent (and not smelly).

I've got a pair of Bontrager mtb shoes in 45 that I bought off someone on here but they're a bit tight for me. They were worn once by the original owner and never by me.
