  • Dutch cyclist Klaas Kwantes was active as a rider in the early 1950s, and was also proffesional rider. Klaas however, seemed more born to the technical side of cycling, and excelled there therefore off. Years he watched his cousin Cees Stam at during his games behind the " Stayer " motors. Klaas would also become one of the better builders of "stayer " bicycles. He worked also for many years as a mechanic in big teams like "Chain". Also at the KNWU ( Dutch national cycle federation ) he has years of knowledge which he put into practice, while riders with "name" rode on his bicycles. He build his frames for Peka but also under his own name, Klaas Kwantes, he built bikes. The frames Klaas Kwantes be recognized by the double KK in the seatstays.
