10speed Wheelset, preferably carbon, maybe alu.

  • Hi guys, SORTED NOW

Edit: how did i forget this? Needs to be shimano/sram freehub

Looking for a nice wheelset to finish my build

preferably I'm looking for something around 35mm profile with a wide internal rim width, flat and low spoke count for da swag.

    rim brake compatible cus #discbrakesaredead

I'm hankering to try some carbon but could be swayed by a nice alu set.

    10speed.

    must be in good condition,

looking to spend up to £300 for the right pair, obviously the cheaper the better, will consider Chinese crabonz as this is likely to be what i'll buy if I cant source something nice second hand.

no weird coloured rims but hubs can be as lairy as you like.

    thanks,

    Harrison.

  • Have a lovely, minty pair of Fulcrum Racing Zeros that I'd let go for £300

    Problem is -

    Tubular

Wild ano red spokes and rims - although would look good with a black frame.

  • Never had tubular tbh, so not sure i have preference.

Probably a no but send me a picture please dude!

  • Thought those with red spokes were gonna be grim but those are sweg

  • Aye. They looked lovely on my BBQ black CAAD9.

  • Actually they would have looked bloomin awesome on that CAAD7 :)

  • I'm selling my Gigantex/FRM wheelset
Lightweight FRM team CA carbon shell/axled hubs (gold coloured), 24/20 DT Aerolite spokes, 38mm gigantex tubs, absolutely bombproof, I'm a fat ex-rugby league forward now at a svelte 101kg and ridden them heavier and they don't batter an eyelid, come with 22mm Conti GP4000SII tubs in great condition.
Shimano freehub body fitted, filed back freehub flange to take 11 speed (I used it with an Ultegra 11-28) but will include a shim for 10. Also comes with a mint Campag freehub too which is a piece of piss to fit. (no tools required)

Bearings are fine but are not absolutely 100% perfect though spin up for ages (better than my new campag bora one's!) but also have a full set of replacement bearings, braking surfaces in very good nick and will include the yellow swiss stop pads.
measly 1950g including the tyres, won't come with QR levers as these are my special ti/carbon jobs.
Downsides; the cassette lockring is for a 12T, it'll need a nibble off the edges so you can use an 11t sprocket unless you can find an 11T lockring as the FRM ones have a different thread and specific to these hubs. it's got much more of a lip than a std shimano lockring so this would be able to be used for an 11 and a 12 and it fits the campag freehub.
my filing down of the flange isn't pretty cosmetically but you won't notice it with a cassette fitted.
The rims possibly aren't as wide as you're after
    They're tubs.

  • Although those rims look fucking SICK the issues with the hubs sound slightly too high maintenance!

  • You're right! You never mentioned that you had a caad9 in the same colourway! Although they look pretty cool im hopefully going to be repainting the frameset if it fits so i need something fairly neutral!

  • I've got a set Ryde/rigida dp18 on sealed novatec hubs and sapim. Probably not even 300 miles max. Hand made.
    Bomb proof.
    De stickered
    Can get pictures if required.

  • Whats the weight like?

  • I have a set of 7801 Dura Ace. Might be a little worn but not asking too much for them....

  • stillll lookin, carbon clincher preferred.

  • how worn and do you have anymore info/pics

  • How about some Reynolds Attack? 11speed shimano Freehub and spare 10speed campag, carbon clinchers, 38mm deep, bearings buttery, Freehub loud! Swisstop black prince pads included, vgc - £420 posted tracked etc
