Eddy Merckx Team SC or Colnago C40

I have too many bikes and looking to sell one, but can't choose. I am leaning towards selling the Team SC because I believe the C40 fits a tad better, but the Merckx is such a good looking bike and rides well. The last time I was in such a quandary I just took each on my favorite 15 mile track several times, and the one with the slowest overall time I sold. But as we get older time isn't everything.

I have a Team SC I love, so I am biased. That said, if they both ride well, why not sell the Colnago, since you'll get more for it?

Keep the one you like the best. If you like them equally, keep them both !

Well Colnago C40s are pretty commonplace but then again the Merckx is alu which is a material that doesn't last forever.

So in my opinion I would flog the Merckx because even though it is an attractive bike (with horizontal handlebars) one fine day it will crack and its best to not be in ownership when it does.

Carbon is repairable. Many C40s are still on the road after having been repaired.

With aluminium if it cracks then it is game over, not repairable like steel and carbon due to the fact mainly that the alloy is specially heat treated.

Its 58cm, and thanks for the compliments. I am in the U.S. in Washington DC area and C40s are not that commonplace. And, I believe both of these material wise will last longer than me unfortunately.
