I was chatting to the print collective from DIY Space for London today- I think that if I/some others join we could probably print this there, and anything else we want to print, for cheap

Yo, so was talking with Cam and we could get loads of flyers printed for pretty cheap. Would be good to do this asap, because maybe we should go to Critical Mass this month.
What should we have on the flyer?
-Some sort of come play polo statement.
-Emphasis that it is a co-ed sport
-lfgss address?
-Facebook address?
-LHBPA address (this is currently not operational so probably better to exclude it)?
-Info about beginners sessions? -

This company does 5,000 double sided flyers on 250gsm for under £40.
This would last us at least a couple of years and would be a great way to spread the word.
I am thinking less information is more, just in case details / dates etc... change in the future.
Thoughts would be helpful x

How about this as a rough template?
'Come Play Bike Polo
facebook URL
Twitter URL
LFGSS URL'Hardcourt Bike polo is a fast paced, co-ed sport played in local communities that frequently interact with other scenes globally.
London Bike Polo welcomes you to join us. Beginners' sessions are held on the first Monday of each month at 7:30pm in Newington Gardens, SE1'
Should we mention sessions are free of charge?
Do you think calling bike polo fast paced will put some people off / is superfluous? -

Hey LPC, Joe has kindly offered to do this. Anyone have any suggestions or alterations they would like to see before we put it to print?

Yes, something along the lines of it's free to just turn up and play.

The front looks OK I reckon... Em was worried about the pads and stuff... Pic is of Erin at the first Hell's Belles, I took it so no copyright issues...

Fantastic Joe!
Some very minor points
- Should beginners nor be beginners' ? (I'm the worst English grad evar)
- Twitter account is LondonBikePolo
- Maybe just one exclamation mark after the note on free awesomeness
- Should we include ww.lfgss.com ? Personally I think it would be good to do so.
Thanks again xoxoxo

I reckon you could probably tidy up your syntax in the first paragraph a bit but it still reads OK... Get your wordsmiths onto it...

+1
I posted another version further up in the thread but I am thinking we should just cut it to
"Hardcourt Bike polo is a fast paced, co-ed sport played internationally" -
• #18
And "Beginners' Sessions in London are held at..."

Really liking the flyer, looks great Agree with simple is best as we can have more info on the Facebook page / forum which we are able to update easily when plans change and not have to keep printing flyers.
Nice works guys.

Word. Gonna keep the detail about first Monday etc... just because even if we do start having more days in the month this is still likely to be true.
-
• #22
Looks great, that second sentence needs some work though perhaps.

• #23
Kind of works on the forth or fifth read through.

Maybe I'm tired though. Great work guys.

Maybe shouldn't have a bike with gears in the poster??
Sup LPC
So at the LHBPA meeting the other day we talked about how it would be good to have a banner to hang up when we play polo somewhere and some flyers to have for pickup / tournaments / places of work / cafes / bike shops etc...
Anyone want to come up with some simple designs? The more the merrier!
Things that might be good to include:
Name of the sport / club (duh)
Make it clear that this is a co-ed and inclusive sport/community
Invite people to talk to us
Links to LHBPA website / LFGSS / Facebook page (maybe need to confirm this detail a bit more).
Design the flyer so that it can be easily printed using a home printer and cut up.
