check parcel2go.com. it tends to be cheaper if you get a parcel to be under 1m or 99cm. i managed this with fork "turned back" or if easy, fork disassembled.
if you pack tight, this will be cheaper. cut up normal size bike box to do this. extra sure too because two layers of cardboard.dimensions i use for guidance; 99cm length, 60-65cm height (depending on frame) and 15-20cm width. this is quite the minimum though so keep that in mind. gl!

Personally, my experience of "third party brokers" is poor, ie I prefer to pay the extra to contract direct with the courier.
If something goes wrong, having to deal with the intermediary is a nightmare and does not offset the modest saving.
The actual courier will be less willing to deal with things (and it is them who will pay compensation), because their margin has been cut by the intermediary's profit.

but then use an aggregator to at least get the cheapest quote. from there contact direct. only once had something go topsyturvy but that was solved perfectly by the seller with parcel insurance. earned me a free frame after the hassle and a cheap repair though.

Yes, that's a good idea.
But the price you get "direct", isn't always the same as through a broker.
And if things do go wrong, dealing with the courier via the broker (in my experience) complicates matters.
Personally, the modest saving of using a broker isn't worth it.
Of course, YMMV :)
