• First post and sorry if I break any rules. I did read them.

So I'm selling/offering for trade my Dahon Tournado frame, forks, headset, stem, seatpost and the flight case:

    http://dahon.com/bikes/tournado/

It's basically a Ritchey breakaway with long reach calipers in lieu of cantilevers. I'll post photos later but I wanted to check if there was any interest.

It's the largest size they did; 58 ctr to ctr (square). How does £500.00 sound?

I'd like to trade ideally for a steel audax or light tourer in the 59 to 62cm range with clearance for at least 28mm tires - WHY? The reason for the sale/trade is that I've foolishly agreed to undertake a 3/4 day credit card tour in France with my father-in-law in May and the Dahon is a little too small for me.

  • @Sparky want to build a bike that will go in standard suitcase?

  • @amey I don't think this will fit in a standard suitcase.

  • Luckily is comes with it's own suitcase! Included in the trade/sale.

  • well standard suitcase guidelines of airlines/trains etc.

  • Trains, yes. Airlines, no. The case is deceptively big. A standard 29" suitcase will fit in easily and only fill about 2/3 of the volume. Overall, the case is larger than the mythical 62" total linear inches most airlines use. British Airways are often the most generous, but with most airlines you'll likely be hit with an excess baggage charge, or just be charged the standard bike fee.

  • It's not that big ;-(. I took the bike to NYC and back, then Geneva and back and have not been charged excess baggage. But that's because I'm super charming to the monsters that terrorize the check in desks.

  • if its the same size as the ritchey breakaway case its not that big, and I've flown all over europe with it with Easyjet, ryanair etc no problems

  • I am definitely interested looking for one since a long time, are you able to post some pictures or send them to my email simon (dot) herrmann (at) gmail (dot) com

  • Yeah sure Simon, any particular pictures that you want?

  • Simon (user72104) I have sent you a few pictures.

And for everyone else I have checked the measurements and the tt is 58 ctr to ctr and the st is actually 56 ctr to top.

  • is the bike still available?

  • Would be interested in seeing a few photos if this is still around..?

  • T'was sold. Frame, forks and all accoutrements (less wheels and saddle).
