Looks like a proper dentists Giant. But I guess you are going to cover it in mud, so it's not too bad.

Not sure about the SRAM MTB / Road 11 speed compatibility tbh. Worth looking in to if you are assuming that it's as gloriously mix n match as the 10 speed stuff.

That is the plan!

Racing?

Why would they change a winning formula?
-
• #7
I hope so
-
• #8
Because the 11 speed mtb stuff came first and didn't use Exact Actuation.
I think.
:)
This page details the EA stuff. You can see the 11 speed road stuff is listed. But the 11 speed MTB stuff is not.

Apex One will do and it's not that more spendy than the NX version. And you get a barrel adjuster, too.

Will look into this, they're on sale atm at px I see.

I've a new and unused Superstar wide/narrow chainring, 38t, if you want? 110 bcd.

This bike has some serious racing pedigree, glad it will continue to be a mainstay of the London cx scene

I get slight rubbing with 40c wtb nanos and the current cx8.4 mini v brakes. Wouldn't be an issue with wider rims or cx9's.
The frame itself would easily clear 50c if you used full sized V brakes, Or cantis.
Feel free to call dibs if you want.

Will get in contact once I sort some cranks I may end up with direct mount or something.

Did it ever actually get dirty?

Haha I hope so, but I may not actually be in the country, as it's the big 30 this year.

You definitely need compressionless cables if you're running mechanical discs, the routing is a PITA, and spongy as hell.
If you want to strip it, get ready for a fun week of hand cramp. You can't material blast it if you want a mirror finish, so it's elbow grease or nothing...

Welcome to the olds club, it's alright.

big 30
As much as I love my All-City Maco Man (which will be up for sale soon if anyone is interested) I wanted to move to discs brakes. Hardly @Tenderloin was selling his Giant TCX SLR 2 frame for a very reasonable price so I snapped it up.
I'm not a huge fan of the paintjob, but I think I'll build it up first before I tackle that (I'm thinking i'll upgrade the forks at the same time.). Maybe I'll polish it like @MechaMorgan did:
I have some parts already and I need to make some decisions on what else to get:
fame/fork - Giant TCX SLR 2
Seatpost - Giant carbon (you have to use the proprietary one)
Stem - Kalloy Uno (with logos removed)
Bars - Salsa Cowbell 2
Saddle - Romin EVO Expert Ti
Brakes - Juin Tech R1
Shifters - SRAM Rival 22 (thanks @tommmmmmm )
Wheels - @hulsroy has some he's kindly agreed to sell me (Shimano MT-55?)
To get:
Cranks - the frame came with some boat anchor grade FSA ones but I can do better maybe rival 22 to match the shifters.
Chainring - will be running 1x so narrow wide.
Rear mech - a SRAM 11spd one, maybe a mtb clutch one as they're cheaper than the specific 1x road ones.
Cables - Yokozuna Reaction if I can find them jagwire compressionless if not.
Tyres - tubeless definitely, maybe Vittoria, open to suggestions.
Bartape - probably lifeline as its pretty grippy in the wet, will be running gel pads under for my dodgy wrists.
Cassette - large range 11spd
