Bought this lovely frame and forks from another forumenger about 5 years ago and built it up with help from Rob at Sargent an Co. Had a lovely few summers riding it in the summer in good weather but really it's had very limited miles and still in great nick. Some details from the original advert:
Frame size - 23.5".
Frame resprayed metallic silver, restickered, laquered in 2011 by Hewitt Cycles, forks and original Viscount headset rechromed.
This Viscount is made from Phoenix Tube Co. Ltd. '1027' grade CroMo steel. Thinner walled than Reynolds 531 yet has basically the same tensile and yield strength. Lovely low temperature fillet brazing - no lugs obscuring crude tube mitring here! Forks have Vagner forged crown and Suntour drop outs. These are NOT the alloy death forks. This is one of the first Aerospace Pros that came factory fitted with CroMo forks.
Genuine Viscount bottom bracket spindle fitted and at the time the bottom bracket bearings were brand new. I put a NOS Shimano 600 1st edition groupset on, including hubs laced to Open Pro's built by Arup of this parish. The spacing between the rear dropouts is 125mm and seatpost size is 26.8mm. Brooks B17 and matching bar tape, VO mudguards and pasela panaracers.
The bad:
Two small dints on frame that are NOT structural. Some marks in the lacquer where wheels, front derailleur and gear levers have been been attached (unavoidable). The front mech arm rubs a little on the mudguard. I can photograph as required. There are no bottle bosses but I fitted some VO adaptors which are now on another bike.
Final notes - I fitted a no-name front rack which took two panniers, which I can sell with this as well. They are black and white carradice in decent nick.
I'll start at £420 based on the original pricing minus the fact it's been ridden about 200 miles. Based for viewing in E17 and whilst I could post I'd rather sell locally. No splitting. Happy to take any questions.
