Cannondale Capo - Bottom Bracket Size

  • Morning.

I'm starting a build with the above frame, 2010 Cannondale Capo 1 - laaavly.

This is my first build from 'the ground up' as it were, and the bottom bracket minefield has me stumped.

I've measured the internal dimensions of the BB shell, at 68 mm wide and ~35mm diameter (I think. Measured using a ruler and I know 1mm here makes a difference...).

Can anyone knowledgeable tell me what I need, or am I best off going to the LBS (Seabass in Peckham) and getting them to sort me out? I'll have to go there to get it fitted anyway, but I assumed it would be beneficial if I knew what I needed when I turned up... !

  • Do you have already a crankset?
It's a BSA threaded BB, but before you order one, please check first what cranks you're going to fit.

  • No I don't.

I guess I'd thought I'd get the ball rolling by ordering the BB first, but you're right - after some reading I guess it's a good plan to work out what I want throughout first.

Miche Primato Crankset with the Miche 107mm BB sounds reasonable and seems to be a popular choice on here. And should fit(?)

Aiming for ~70 gear inches this implies I need a 19T rear cog.

    Does the above sound reasonable?
