Bianchi for Paris Roubaix

In my hunt for the perfect components I thought it was worth sharing with people my new build...

It's 1996 Team Gewiss Bianchi NOS complete with celeste rockshox.

I want to build it up exactly as per intended for Paris Roubaix, with 1996 8 speed Campagnolo record etc.

Given the condition of the frame I'd ideally like mint components to compliment it. So it if anyone knows of any let me know, thanks.

Amazing - good luck with the build

Very good luck to you. Do you intend to ride it for P-R? If it is a wet one, it might not stay mint for long.

If so check the Roubaix thread on here and go as large as feasible for the tires.

This gives good guidance to the componets I'm looking for.

Rockshox! Take me right back, 1.5" travel and so heavy they have their own gravitational field. Amazing project.

Why 8 and not 9 speed?

If you're interested I have a new in box 1996 Record crankset (53-39, 172.5mm) and 1996 Record front derailleur (both same as Bianchi posted above).

Great project! This reminds me of a Merckx prototype frame I bought a while back, also built for the cobbles.

I recently bought the bike below, but I only need the frame. Parts are in mint condition. Not sure on the year, but could be just the thing you need.

Yup, it's that very same frame, just with a new owner how'll hopefully finish the job this time!

Really need a NOS set of these 8 speed record shifters, anyone know of any anywhere.....

Bianchi did quite some experiments when it came to P-R: here's our (fallen) National hero Johan Museeuw back in 1994
