• Hi everyone,
This Mongoose MTB used to be purple and I have stripped to bare frame a few years ago. I had for a few years but I no longer need it.
I have added a steerer extender to be able to ride in a more upright position.
    Alloy frame and steel forks.

    Ritchey compact handlebars.
    Truvativ 60mm stem.
    BBB steerer tube extender.
    Tektro RL340 levers
    SRAM friction bar end shifter
    Valvert/Kalloy seatpost
    Mongoose saddle
Brand new Truvativ 175mm cranks, used 38T chainring.
Shimano DH-3N20 front dynamo hub in good working condition.
    Shimano FH-RM30 rear hub.
    Shimano 11-28 7 speed cassette.
    Continental Explorer 26x2.1 tyres
Unknown rims. Safety line on brake surface still visible on both, so plenty of life left.
    Unknown canti brakes.
Homemade "hammered" mudguards, These are alloy and were curved, so flattened them up and covered them on matt electrical tape. Bit if a bodge job but they do the job. Rear guard is cable tied to the rack for stiffness.
No cracks on the frame, just a ding on one of the seat stays.
The frame is drilled to route the rear light cable internally.
Steel forks have some scuffs and scratches that have been touched up with a sharpie. Plan was to rattle can them but that never happened. There are eyelet on the right blade for the dynamo cable.

    Seat tube 41cm(16") CTT
    Top tube actual 53cm

    £80
Pick up near Welshpool, can drop it off around Shrewsbury or I can post at cost.
I think I have covered everything but let me know if not.
    Cheers
    Alex

  • Ooh. This viking is yours. I've seen it online before I think. Lovely bike that. GLWS

  • Thanks.

    Price drop on the Mongoose.

Added split prices for the Claud Butler and the Viking.

  • I'll have the saddle support please. Assume it comes with the clip for the TT?

  • Yes it does.

  • Saddle support sold, thanks.

  • Stem & bars please!

Will pm soon but mad busy so might have to sort over the weekend, hope that's ok?

  • That mongoose mtb monster commuter thing is bloody ace btw. I might have a buyer for that, will ask them now.

  • hey @ElGato, on the mongoose did you treat the aluminium after you stripped the paint off it? Or has it just stayed quite shiny?

  • Hi,
I have polished the frame with very fine steel wool and Autosol after I've stripped it and stayed like that.
To be fair I do not like mud :) so hasn't seen any of it.
I have used a spray I bought on B&Q called Plasti-kote or something like that, on a raw steel frame a while ago and worked quite well. So same could be done to this I guess.

  • Sure, thanks, pm sent.

  • Thanks, just curious as my brother is doing something similar to his frame at the mo. He's not going to be kaning it in the mud either so we may just leave it and see how it holds up.

    All the best!

  • Stem and bars sold, thanks.

    Some price drops.

I've got a pair of new basic platform pedals and bell I can include with the Mongoose.

  • Ngggg the Jack Taylor is two or three steps nearer ... Thanks @ElGato for the parts...

  • Pleasure @Skülly.
Would love to see that Taylor finished!

  • Some wheels detailed pictures.
