  • Pulled the trigger on a frame set + bits from @Formaggio. Spur of the moment thing.

Winter is coming up north (GoT style), and I need a bike that I can commute on and have as an escape vehicle when the snow settles. 32mm paselas, room for fenders, front rack etc. Multi use machine.

Heavily influenced by both Mr B's rad Pompino, Jari S Pompetamine over on Yksivaihde and Joval's BMW V2.

What will arrive in about 5 days is F&F with BB, HS, brakes, dropbar cockpit and seatpost.

Loving the look of TB14 on Jovals BMW but what's the consensus on TB14 and disc brake?

  • Really tempted to go disc on my bmw. any idea what fork that is ^

  • SuperTed's "V1" fork as per his PR page.

  • Am scouring t'bay and Aliexpress for a straight bladed carbon fork with IS mounts. All I can find is Post Mount forks with through axles. I am late to the party it seems. Will need to get an adaptor and go through axle on the Hope Evo 2 hub.

The original forks are chunky, but they do take up to 35mm tyres.

Any ideas on which brand of forks that are carbon, can take 35mm+ tyres and has eyelets for fenders?

  • Good buy!

I was waivering before this went to Italy and again when he offered it up.

  • Ah, this was mine! Good bike, 'twas.

I'd definitely get something a little more sprightly than Paselas, I had them on it for ages and when I replaced them with 38c Challenge Gravel Grinders it was heaps more fun.

If you want the mudguards I modified to fit around the front disc and over the nubbin on the wishbone stay to give decent tyre clearance (even with the gravels) let me know

Sweet. Will def have this in mind.

Will have a look. PX have them on for 20 quid.

  • I did have the folding 120tpi "race" version, I can 't speak for the wired one.

  • Evans seem to have them in stock. Really light for 38mm ones. A contender for sure.

  • Was thinking of going Rival OCT or SRAM 300 1.1 but OCT's are still mad expensive on eBay.
SRAM 300 1.1 are almost the same.

    Shimano Sora Hollowtech's maybe. They're 110BCD right?

  • dShimano Sora Hollowtech's maybe. They're 110BCD right?

    Yes.

  • the only fork I found for my project!

  • Looks decent enough. I just want them to start making Seqouia knock off forks. That would be brill.

  • Wouldn't expect any new 1 - 1/8" forks. Sequoia forks are tapered

  • Got a 26" mtb fork with canti mounts in the mail. Might throw that on there for some rack fun.

Wonder if it will take the 38mm challengers?

How do I meassure if it will correctly?

  • Here's a chart; 700c x 38 equals 698 mm which is equal to 26 x 2.75. Looking at this chart the 26 fork might fit 35 mm but probably up to 32

  • Overstretched my bike limit this month. Will have to let this go locally.
