I do like that silky smooth stuff.

Black and pink.
Yes. -
• #4
It used to have even more pink:

Terrible idea, n-1. I swear we've been here before. No bike is going to do both well.
Carbon disc fork and fast wheels for this though...
-
• #6
Very much this. Also, it'll mean you'll find on Monday you have no bike for the commute as you've snapped a rear derailleur, you were lazy and it's still covered in mud or the the pads are now dangerously worn.

I am attempted an ambitious n-1 in order to find something I can race and commute on.
Carbon road bike with disc brakes then, like the BMC Roadmachine RM02.

• #8
Cross racing rather than road racing.
Focus Mares is what I've got my eye on.
-
• #9
Such a mare.

BTW, Genesis just re-released their Vapour cyclocross bike for 2017.
-
• #12
Think positive!
On here?

• #14
Tom why are you acting like me?
-
• #15
I know, they look great.
But the alloy only goes up to mechanical Tiagra, the carbon has no rack mounts.
I've done my research.
-
• #16
Are you selling an awesome bike?
-
• #17
Always
-
• #18
Mares are great btw, saw some in flesh at velo house .. very nice
-
• #19
I saw a 2016 model yesterday that's going to go soon...as much as it pains me, I would like this bike gone.
Might try other means if there's been no interest by the end of the day.

• #20
That guy has great legs.
-
• #21
If you ever want to split the pink CK HS from this then let me know :( cheers. Tom
-
• #22
Hopefully it won't come to splitting it into such small parts. It's probably worth you buying the whole thing and splitting it yourself, I'd have thought...?
-
• #23
What a lovely bike :| Sad to see that someone is selling stuff like this... Had an older road bike with similar color scheme, so this thing reminded of it. If something will happen and you would split the frame with fork or without - I would be interested tbh.
-
• #24
On the offchance that the frame's got a BB30 BB, I'll offer asking - fairly sure it's external though :(
-
• #25
It's BSA threaded I'm afraid.
BB3o is creaky anyway!
Out of interest, why is that such a clincher for you?
I am selling my trusted commuter, winter bike, light tourer and faithful old friend.
I am attempted an ambitious n-1 in order to find something I can race and commute on, as I don't really have the room for two similar bikes.
Frame and forks: Genesis Equilibrium Disc Reynolds 631, 60cm (see geometry below - it's essentially 57cm ST 58cm TT)
Headset: Chris King pink 'pretty and strong' 1-1/8"
Handlebars: Zipp SC70
Stem: Thomson X4 110mm
Shifters: SRAM Apex
Brakes: Shimano mechanical discs brakes (Tiagra equivalent), new pads and rotors two weeks ago
Chainset: FSA Gossamer 50-34 (Shimano 105 outer chainring)
Front derailleur: SRAM Rival
Rear derailleur: SRAM Apex
Cassette: Shimano 105 12-27
Wheels: Both Mavic rims, but not matching
Tyres: Schwalbe Marathon Plus 25mm
Seatpost: Thomson inline 27.2mm
Seatpost clamp: Thomson
Saddle: Bontrager
Mudguards: SMS Bluemels, stays modified to fit around the front disc caliper
Rack: Tubus fly
Bottle cages: King cages, stainless steel
This will never be a show bike, and there are signs of use all over. The levers had been crashed by a previous owner and have since been scraped by me. The front wheel is a tiny bit out of true, which obviously does not affect braking but means it rubs on the mudguard a little. And the bar tape could do with changing.
They're the only less-than-glowing things I could say about this bike though. It's a perfect workhorse, and structurally sound, and should see you right for years to come. In addition to this, the chain, cassette, rotors and pads have all been changed in the six months to a year, and the brake cabling is that fancy frictionless stuff that @edscoble likes which makes the braking silky smooth.
I'm looking for £550, which hopefully seems like a fair price. If you're interested but don't want to pay that much, I could swap out some of the Thomson stuff and the bottles cages and take something off the price too.
It's in Forest Gate (E7) for viewing/test ride/giving me monies and riding away happily.
I'll take some better pictures at some point soon:
(I really thought that was in focus when I took it)
(saddle, pedals and pannier bag shown not included)
