Any advice on how to go about doing that?

Go to your LBS and see what's in their spares bin; Condor sorted me with a MTB shim that worked with a road FD for nada

You can buy shims, Shimano make them (seriously) and they're practically invisible when installed. I'm pretty sure I got mine from my friendly LBS, it's worth asking around as it's the sort of thing bike shops will have left over in their workshops.

Thanks people
I'm in the process of moving my current groupset (Ultegra 6800) from my previous build onto a new frameset I'm building up. Whilst the band-on derailleur I have fits my previous frame perfectly, it's too big for the new build as it has a slimmer seat tube. Has anyone experienced this issue? I don't think Ultegra band on derailleurs come in different sizes..is there some kind of split shim I could install to make up for the excess space or something? Thanks in advance
