All that? For me? You shouldn't have.
Is that actually any cheaper than CRC post brexit?
-
• #5
mmmmmaybe not .. esp with BC discount ;)
-
• #6
n + 1. What's wrong with your nice fixie?
-
• #7
Not bothered about another winter on fixed. The Pearson went a while ago, still have the Pompino though.
-
• #8
nice fixie?
I actually rode it on Saturday to the pub, glorious!
-
• #9
Not yours. That Pearson was a nice fixie.
-
• #10
But mine has Sugino 75DD!!
-
• #11
It was actually stolen from the new owner :(
-
• #12
Ultegra with Tiagra won't work, you need 105 5800 to keep it all 11 speed.
-
• #13
Are the mechs not 'dumb'? Always used to be that way with shimano mtb (haven't ever paid attention to Shimano road)
-
• #14
Oh yes Tiagra mechs will work
Edit: tiagra and 105 are so close in price though. May as well go 5800!
-
• #15
Why such narrow wheels?
-
• #16
Yes! Sub!
We can finally do sensible laps at RP now! ;)
(I have now taken the rack off now due to lack of pannier bags...)
-
• #17
18mm internal is wide enough
-
• #18
Are the 'guard mounts on the inside of that fork?
-
• #19
I might go MTB wheels for wideeeeeness.
-
• #20
Yep
-
• #21
Show off!
-
• #22
Not really no. He says big tyre, you say 18mm. Does not compute. So much tyre squirm.
@umop3pisdn Stan's Arch at 21m internal? Not cheap, but 38's will sit damned nicely.

• #23
Not cheap
Out

With compact and an 11/28 I'd want a medium cage rear right?
-
• #25
Short cage. Medium is for 32+ teeth
It's big, it's boring, it's red:
Plan is for a real do it all - a big tyre, hydro disc, mudguard winter bike with the ability to carry a bit of luggage if needed, or stick on knobblies and do some of that trendy gravel grinding.
With Campag yet to really produce anything disc brake related it'll be a walk on the wild side (Shimano), probably Ultegra level STIs with Tiagra everything else to keep the cost down. Some kind of cheap disc wheelset, leftover finishing kit and GB mudguards. Won't be light!
