The Pyford crash was on this corner where the road goes downhill then does a near 180 back on itself.

Potential contradiction with the BBC reporting that the cause of death was a heart attack. May not have been crash related. Not sure if other news agencies have been erroneously tying the crashes and the death but that may not be accurate.

Oh that corner's a right bastard, and it really doesn't help that people try to overtake on it too. When I rode the first Ride100, some group of berks came in way faster than we were from behind us and pushed us off line really dangerously.edit: a now irrelevant and inappropriate observation
Who knows what happened to Robin, of course... butI'll echo the sentiment that I hope he was having a smashing day out. Such sad news. -

That is really sad. As has been said, I hope he was enjoying everything to do with the ride until the awful moment.
Cancer ttreatment can have a really bad effect on the heart. A friend of mine was cleared of a really aggressive breast cancer the day she was diagnosed with heart disease linked to the chemotherapy. While I dont know if this was the cause in this case, it does make me realise that some people are a whole lot less fortunate than me and that I should do what I can with what I have.
