UKIP Leadership 2016

I just wanted to see if I could post this with a straight face.

I failed.

BBCR5L just had an item about Carswell, their only HoC MP,
who appears to share few of Rnige's principles,
facing some sort of internal committee to ensure he cannot become the new leader.

If they can find a leader who is less divisive than Farridge and both main parties turn to non-Leave leaders, they could become a proper worry. Particularly now that they have been legitimised by the machinations of Cameron/Gove/Johnson/Hoey et al.

Carswell defected from the Conservatives and, unlike Reckless, hasn't bought into the Farage cult of personality. I think there's going to be a lot of other members who feel that they have earned a shot at leadership ahead of him.

Not sure who might actually serve as a replacement. I have a feeling that they may want to preserve their pint swilling man of the people schtick.

So the favourite to become the new leader of UKIP, Stephen Woolfe, is seriously ill in hospital in Strasbourg after being punched by one his fellow UKIP MEPs in a 'clear the air' meeting.

Did strike me as odd Woolfe has asked the Old Bill to investigate.
If they find anything, won't they have to use a European Arrest warrant,
which I thought the kippers were dead against.

Anyway his resignation from ukip will allow him to join Maykiptories
with an air of justification.

Will he have to resign his MEP seat and stand as a Tory?

Resignation from a party usually triggers a by-election so not technically a resignation.
