sounds great! are you considering a respray?

Cheers pal. Originally i that thought about getting it resprayed yeah. Now though i think it would be a shame to lose the original paint/decals and patina. The paint is by no means good but it's kinda cool i think. I do however have a set of decals from Greg Softley at Cyclomondo in Australia if i change my mind. Doubt if i would be able to a replacement foil head badge though.

Looks lovely. How do you find 753 to ride?

Thanks man. I find it fantastic to ride, really responsive and comfortable. I am cautious about the tubing though. The tt is Rizla thin and already sports a couple of battle scars but it is lovely and light though.

I know what you mean, mine feels like you could dent it with a good squeeze between your thumb and finger. Mine is 1986 with full Zeus Pista just to be a bit different.

It seems like i have gone for C-record. There have actually been lots of developments since i posted the thread.

So i went a bit crazy and spent some cash...
C-record seatpost
Cinelli 2a 110mm stem
Cinelli Pista bars
Cinelli Volare SLX saddle
Campag sheriff star 32h wheelset
Campag pista headsetI'm not decided on the headset or the rims yet. I ideally i would like a C-record pista headset but i know how hard they are to find. The rims are Mavic Reflex 32h tubulars. I'm not sure about their manufacture date but i would ideally have something mid-late 80's.

Wrong thread mate.
I picked this beauty of a frame up about a year go from a lovely chap down in Exeter who was using it as a commuter and had it built up with mainly BLB parts. At the time I had the cash to splash out on a new and mainly Campy pista and Nitto components. I probably spent too much but I didn't have the time to scour the net and find the era correct deals. But now it's time to do some justice and spend the time and cash on giving this frame the group-set it deserves in my opinion.
I'm starting this thread mainly because I enjoy following others like this but also to use it as a resource for research and opinions on parts etc. Hopefully people will dig it.
In terms of the frame it was made in 1985 at the Ilkeston factory in Derbyshire. It's made out of Reynolds 753R with Cinelli cast BB and lugs with Campag drops and either a Davis or Prugnat fork crown. SB7610 55.5 on the BB.
The build date puts it bang on the C-record pista group-set era but i'm not decided yet and i'm open to suggestions.
