Everything crossed for rider

My thoughts are with this rider.. According to the Standard, he 'collided with a car'. The car driver didn't collide with him then.. I have written to the editor to ask why they used this language - also why they persist on the use of the word 'accident'.. There is a reason for this cyclist being in hospital right now and it is not accidental.
I am always totally stunned when even riders on this forum refer to acts of reckless driving/road violence as 'accidents'.. Magda Tadaj was mown down by a lorry from behind in Selhurst recently. The Croydon Advertiser's headline stated 'Cyclist collided with lorry'. I filled in the online complaint form for the 1000th time.. The Croydon Guardian said 'Cyclist hit by lorry'. I sent them a fan letter.
Please forgive me if this is not appropriate.. I have become deranged since I've been off the bike due to not wanting to die.

Here's hoping the rider is OK. The bridge was closed for quite a while for investigations.
