• Hi,

If you have a small-ish road frame that you might want to sell on, in good nick, please get in touch.. Can be negotiable on price, ideally looking for:

    1. Decent frame material/construction, but nothing exotic (reliable brand?)
    2. A top tube around 52-53cm ctr-ctr (may just about get away with 54cm)
    3. 130mm rear spacing
    4. Enough clearance for 700x28mm tyres (caliper brakes, not disc!)
5.Can work with either 1" or 1.125" headset/forks (not expecting it to come with either, but the more the better..)
    5. Mudguard eyes would be useful but not essential (Rack mounts a plus, but not needed)

    Can anyone help?

    Ta,

    j.

  • Price? I have a Genesis Volare 853 w. Enve forks and Chris king for sale.

  • Considering how Audax frames typically run fatter tyres and guards I would say, go for the longest toptube possible and use a shorter stem.. Otherwise the toe overlap will be horrendous - 54cm should be a minimum really

  • Ribble Audax frames have good rep if you can pick one up. They cheap also. Good luck

  • If you wanna audax on it dont discount a cross frame. Surly Cross Check is a brilliant frame / value for money

  • I've got a decent pug around that size I can let go for a very reasonable amount..

  • Thanks for all the comments/advice so far. Trying to keeps costs to a minimum, so unfortunately no top-notch kit, but looking to get the best bang for the buck. Will get back to anyone who PM's

  • There's a Genesis equilibrium over on ctc, I think it's 52cm. Guys been advertising for a few weeks and has now said it needs to go this weekend and wants £70 for it. It's got carbon forks and Reynolds 520 tubing and its in cm24 postcode. good luck.

  • I have this small road frame made in Reynolds 531c. It's a Gazelle Champion Mondial from 1980/1981 in very good condition still with original paint and decals. Seat tube is 50cm center to top and top tube is 52cm center to center. Not sure about those 28mm tyres but based on my other gazelles I'd say it could work. Here's some photos:

  • Look at the Geoff Roberts on sale here, will be well made and looks so strange it's probably thief proof too.

  • Just noticed this ad. I needed a reasonably priced audax bike last year. Was looking at ribble, but the tyre clearance with mudguards put me off. I got a genesis equilibrium 10 from last year for about 560 from an online shop.
Great bike, comfy, steel, mudguard clearance etc.

  • @Kampa I could be interested in the gazelle, how much do you want for It ?

  • Looking for 200 euro plus shipping. PM me for more pictures/info about the frame if still interested. Cheers!
