Hi - I'm selling my Steel Kona Fire Mountain (16 inch frame with P2 fork) to free up space and fund a new project. I acquired the bike during Christmas last year, and have only ridden it a couple of times since. The last owner was a retro enthusiast, so had restored the bike with many original components from the era, and is in really good shape, rideable and great fun. I suspect that this was originally a rarely ridden bike that sat in a shed for many years.
The steel frame has original paintwork (lime and slightly faded in areas) and decals - still in great condition for age, and will have the expected chips and minor rust spots for the age, but no dents or dings. Guess it can be powder-coated in future but I (and the previous owner), didn't feel the need.
Many original parts and a few updated ones:
Wheelset in excellent condition -Shimano hubs, Araya Rims and Kona Tyres. Also hardly any wear on the tyres and the hubs were recently serviced so run very smoothly.
Drivetrain and 21 gears (3 x 7) are a mixture of Shimano, Deore LX, Biopace with Shimano XT V-brakes.
Other 'blast from the past' components include a Zoom stem (no Velocity stem unfortunately), Fred Salmon seatpost, Hope seatbinder, and a virtually unused original Kona bottle cage.
Saddle is a worn Specialized, but pedals and Ritchey grips are brand new.
Based in Hertfordshire, but also in Central London W1. Can meet either or Finsbury Park, Kings Cross etc.
