  • Turns out they're press fit 30 not bb30.

Rotor are "Universal Bottom Bracket" (UBB) and will fit just about anything with the right BB/spacers.

  • Are you sure they're pressfit specific? I thought that Rotor only made 2 versions, 30mm and 24mm axle, which worked with all the respective BB types with that axle diameter.

  • Oh, you'll need their BB of course...

edit: maybe not, they don't seem to have a BB30 on their products list. Anyone else got a view on this?

  • I figured out they were UBB. The amount of spacers I would need isn't appealing. A

  • Ah ok.

What length and BCD are they?

  • 110bcd and 172.5 @diceface

That doesn't make any sense: both BB30 and PF30 have 68mm bottom bracket shells, ie you would use the same spacers.

Either way, it's neither PF30 nor BB30 which is not what you have advertised.

  • The axle diameter is 30mm, but the length of the axle is maybe 25/30mm to long for my bb30 bb shell

  • Yes.

    Which you fill with spacers.

"... our UBB concept, which encompasses all bottom bracket standards on the market. This allows for surprising and unexpected new options for upgrading bikes of any BB type: our groundbreaking UBB30 axle concept is 100% compatible with BSA (68 & 73), ITA, BB86, BBB89, BB92, BB30, BB386 evo and BBRight bikes."

  • I knew I would already have to full with spacers obviously. But wouldn't that throw off chain line? Even though it's kinda not a big deal with gears??

But then I guess every bike with a non bb30 cranks deals well doesn't it?!

  • I thought maybe your concern was aesthetic or q-factor.

I use a Rotor crankset with their BSA30 BB for a 1x9 system on my CX bike. The bearings, being outside the BB shell, take up the "extra" spindle length and my 34t chain ring is still tolerably close to the chainstay.

As the BB30 bearings are inside the BB shell, I guess the spacers would be on the spindle itself. That might not look good, I dunno.

  • My real concern was chain line and all that stuff, but then realised the 10 or so millimeters isn't going to be a real issue is it!

Aesthetic wise I guess it doesn't really matter from drive side point of view

  • For sells still. 70 including postage

  • The chainline will be fine: using spacers isn't a bodge, it is what they are designed to use.

The axle is long enough to fit the widest 30mm BB standard, so narrower standards (ie BB/PF30) need spacers.

    http://rotorbike.com/support select "road" "cranks" "3D30"

Spacers available from Velotech and Power2Max amongst others.

  • I like this... Too lazy to UTFS, are there any special tools that I need to install this?

  • Bumb
