80's disc wheel

  • Hi guys,

I have this disk wheel for sale. Looks like it hasn't been used much, there is almost no visable brake wear on the rim. It comes with a NOS Wolber Special Course tube, which is allready glued on the rim. The hub is a dura ace one.

    Price: Sold to Hillyben

  • Damn that's nice!

  • What size is it? Looks small but it might have just be because the hub enclosure is massive

  • Hi,
Is this a disc or a spoked wheel with covers stuck on? Fixings look like chainring bolts?
    Any history , info etc?

  • It looks spoked, the rim looks normal, and there's some sort of glue where the white meets it

  • its a "normal" 700C Wheel.

  • I don;t have any specific info. It came with a Colnago Master time trail bike i bought some years ago. I'm not an expert on these wheels but it looks like a wooden disk that is glued to a normal tubular rim. The wooden disk is fixed with the chainring bolts. It doesn't have any wheel covers and isn't spoked. It's a completely solid wooden disk.

  • It is a completely solid wooden disk, no spokes here..

  • Interesting, I've never seen one like it before. Are the threads for a screw on cassette?

  • Yes they are, it is a normal Shimano Dura-Ace Low Flange First Gen hub, 7100 series I believe.

  • That is awesome looks to me like a DIY disc wheel. Genius I'm tempted to buy though no use for or bikes or kit that could run it!

  • Is it a single speed Thread or for screw on Block?
