I have done this twice in the past, and I have a hunger for some more night rides this year.

Hmm, I've got a "sportive" the weekend before so it might be a stretch for me to get both weekends out. But I'll put it in the diary provisionally as I love this ride.

And yeah now I'm nervous it's my puncture fixing abilities he's questioning.

That was pretty bleak, although ever since then I've always felt that because I've dealt with that episode I have little to fear on the road...

Anybody fancy doing Avebury this year but a day late, i.e. ride friday 21st night so work isn’t interrupted?

Not a bad idea! I'm not sure how much I enjoy the weird hippy vibe on the actual night/morning anyway.

Although I'm not bothered about going to work.

Ha, yeah avoiding the drunk cunts seems attractive for me as well as not missing work.

my over riding memory of turning up to avebury on the solstice was a load of kids on ketamine.

Tempted, never done this ride or ketamine before.

I do enjoy this ride. I’m so sleep deprived with bambino #2 I’m not sure if it’s good night ride “training” or if it would just finish me off.
TL:DR, I’m up for it.

I did this ride a few years ago and it was great fun, but the arrival at the stones was completely ruined for me by the drunken party and the massive amounts of litter.

It's a really good route and the route to the station afterwards was also great. It's a tough ride, long and pretty hilly in places, but I'd be totally up for it again, especially if it avoids the solstice party.
