bump
Got my Rychtarski built up at Stayer cycles and was a great experience. For anyone in E11 or that way then I really recommend it.

Love the look of your cross rims!

Got a nice pink Swiss steel frame for the missus from Sam. And they were lovely and very knowledgeable.
Best of luck!

So thankful to Sam and Judith for this build. Can't wait to put some proper miles in!

I went for a ride on the very damp Roding River banks this morning; mudguards were great, tyres needed more nobbles…

Could they not sell you a straight seatpost?
-
• #9
Bizarrely, it looks to be clamped almost at the centre of the rails. Weird saddle?

Correct! It's a weird saddle. It's the really narrow flite. I find it super comfortable. If the rails were "normal" my inner thigh would hit em. Fitting a inline later today, the layback is what I had around.

Unfortunately not 😢
The saddle tends to look pushed really far forward always. Strange rails, comfy bum.

that trip with Chas in Japan must have been epic!
so what's this secret narrow Flite? And what are you going to do when you will need to replace it?
The setback of that saddle and an inline seatpost makes the geometry look like a track bike. I guess it's intentionally done so it's easy to switch between fixed and road crits? -

Once a flite always a flite then i went brooks 13 and i didnt think the flite could br bettered . Try one.

I am a Flite guy as well. I tried the c13 and it felt too sharp on the edges, if it makes sense. I am trying an SLR Flow now on my road bike. So far so good. Anyway, it's going a bit off-topic :D

Back on topic , 1 set of 38 mm carbons from stayer that did me proud at roubaix.
-
• #19
off-topic again: did you do the roubaix sportive? if yes, I will dm you about it
-

Found the saddle, very interesting one: https://www.evanscycles.com/selle-italia-flite-friction-free-flow-saddle-EV243258

They're just chinese carbon with stickers right?
-

And it's pretty much done. Haven't been able to ride it much thanks to my vertigo, but it's probably the best bike I will ever own.
It's that saddle without the cutout! @steelest.
Included a saddle rail shot on the inline seat post just for you @croft. 🙃
Anyway, I hope you've all had a lovely Christmas. Happy new year!

Hi
Just a bit of advertising for our new business.
Stayer Cycles
http://www.stayercycles.com
It's two of us. One does frame building and frame repair, the other wheel building.
We started out with an interest in vintage steel bicycles. We have been importing bicycles and frames from Belgium for years, mainly for the shop we used to run, and because we still have some great contacts there, and that interest, we're continuing with this as well.
Please have a look.
For frame builds we have a 6 month waiting list at the moment and examples will be posted on the website soon.
Wheel builds 15% off till the end of March if you mention lfgss.
Cheers!
Judith
