  • Mate, that's not a panasonic track

  • what to beware of ?

  • I do not know the exact model , but the fact that it is 100 % Panasonic. Previous owner ordered its official Panasonic store in NY in the late 80s.

  • I have a bike, and previous owner told me that it was welded by her majesty herself. And instead of a grease they were using moon dust.

  • Shady as fuck, bruv.
    That's what's to beware of.

  • 2 sets of bottle mounts and a pump peg. looks like an old path racer or something, definitely not a track bike...

  • a modified track bicycle, wheelbase 95sm with track fork. 27.2 seatpost diametr, tubes i gues tange 2. Why such modifications , questions to the past owner

  • seller with 100 % rating on ebay, I think he can be trusted

  • @Velocio - suspect!

  • Trust no one on Ebay, and the fact is that I bought a Panasonic frame last week and I can guarantee you that this isn't a Panasonic 4000!

  • Rating on ebay means shit; if that 100% seller could provide some pepewok, then there would be at least some space for discussions.

  • KPAH, how should someone pay for the bike?

  • Paypal

  • why not Panasonic 4000?
    it absolutely everything like him

  • You bought a bike on eBay, unseen.
You come on this forum and advertise it for sale, still unseen by you, and get indignated that a forum (populated by people with a passion for bikes) advise you the bike is not what you are claiming it is.
Perhaps you should listen to the hive mind of lfgss

  • EVERYBODY CALM DOWN

I think this is a Panasonic DX 4000 that has had cable guides, shifter mount and dropouts changed.
As the original owner said the fork was rubbish and replaced it that would make sense as when new it was fitted with a uni-crown fork which always looks ugly on a lugged frame. Hence preference for a lugged fork replacement.
I don't see any intention of the seller here to deceive anyone they were simply forwarding the info they had, simply a mistake in the original eBay sale.

PS - I am not vouching for anyone though just my opinion of what is written

  • but no one has pointed out why it does not track 4000, I can remove the paint , and we will see that this is not reworked road frame

  • Track 4000 didnt had bottle holder holes and cable guides.

@conquistador you might be right, but removing cable guides and weld a new ones on is a bit odd no?

  • it has cable guides? shit, could still be that type of mistake, low end Panasonic road conversion. if at all

  • rear clearance is for road bikes, also I'm guessing head tube angle and BB height are road but can't tell from photo

  • I also said that I could remove paint and you will see that this is not reworked road bike

  • the clearance on track bikes is determined by the chainring and cog combination, no?
Anyway, I agree it's a modded track 4000, there is nothing to suggest otherwise.
