You bin it.

I took it to a local carbon place in the end, they patched it up a bit with some resin and what not.

Good news.
How much did it cost?

I've not actually collected it yet, but the same place repaired my bike frame (which snapped in half) in about 3 weeks (including painting time) and for £190. This has been less than a week and the guy said the bill wasn't very much. I'll get the bill when I go for the wheel, it's crazy busy at work here so I probably won't be able to get it until next week.
They're a pretty awesome place actually. They made the carbon chainrings used on the worlds lightest road bike (2.something kg). Now they do a lot of bike repairs. At first I was a little apprehensive riding my bike but I did about 9000km last year on it and it seems good as new. I'd highly recommend them for repair work.

Where's this? I'm in the market for a carbon ring.
PS You know to whom you should send the bill, don't you?
-

Sounds like it'll be Fibre-Lyte - http://www.fibre-lyte.co.uk/

Sorry I didn't see the replies to this, yeah that's the place. I looked at the chainrings but for a zen-like track ring it was about £115 which seemed a bit over the top for some bling :-P

Thanks.
I know Fibre-Lyte and they're very good, but it would be nice to have someone to compare them with.

Fibre-Lyte is where I go for my repairs.

OK, So I went to get the wheel... it's a write off!
Apparently when they looked at it the carbon had started to de-laminate where it must have had some impact in the past. So basically it was a complete waste of £215 :( Going to collect it back from them this afternoon, but from what they said on the phone it shouldn't be ridden and is non-repairable.
Anyone want to buy a disc wheel for decorative purposes only? :(

Did you get refunded from the carbon place?
-
• #20
The carbon place didn't charge me when they saw it was damaged, just picked it up today.
-

Yeah he says that Fibrelyte must have broken it.

Time to go to the Bad Traders with this.

I take it you are joking. If not post the conversation on the bad traders thread so people can see it.

Just re-read the BT thread and spotted you did a bank transfer and not through paypal...
So I got a disc wheel but it has a few holes, minor cracks etc. Obviously I could just put stickers over them but I was wondering if there was a better solution? Some kind of repair patches. (Like a sticker but stronger I suppose)
