I forgot that I also have original 1992 Athena click pedals. Willing to swap them for the look pedals!

Wow, some off those bits look NOS!
The cranks are 1st gen. Chorus and I think the seatpost also is: engraved shield (inherited from Victory).
The brakes are Athena, but D500 not Monoplaner (MP arms intersect each other, hence the name).
I've never seen a pair of those Ergo "in the flesh" before (especially in that condition): very rare, only issued in 1992.

The groupset is indeed in a very good condition! One of my favorite groupsets also, but I don't have a bike to put it on so that's why i'm selling it.
The cranks are definitely Athena. As you can see in the Campagnolo catologue right here: https://jlins.wordpress.com/2012/02/03/campagnolo-road-range-1992-catalog/
Thanks for the feedback!

The cranks are definitely Athena.
Yes. And no. :)
I'd forgotten that second gen. Athena inherited 1st gen. Chorus (when 2nd gen. Chorus inherited Croce D'Aune).
What is the date code (the two digit number in the square box on the reverse)?
-
• #8
The codes that are in the square boxes are 71 and 62.
-
• #9
6n is '90 and 7n, '91.
With typical Campag certainty, the second digit might refer to the half of the year of manufacture (ie n1 = Jan. to Jun.) or the quarter (ie n1 = Jan. to Mar.).
Either way, no one would know without checking and it's entirely possible they were remaindered stock which wasn't actually issued until '92.

Never knew it was possible to get a remainder from the higher end groupset in the past, in the newer groupsets.
It could be one of the reasons why Campagnolo never put their group names on the parts until 1994, haha. -

Record generally didn't trickle down (the '95 Chorus seatpost being a notable exception), but the lower groups can be good value if you know what to look for, especially from '95 when the name was added (snob value).
My favourite from the period is 2nd gen. Chorus: CDA cranks, front & rear derailleurs and there weren't separate Chorus shifters, it got Record.

The groupset is Sold!
SOLD!
I'm selling this 1992 Campagnolo Athena 8 speed groupset with wheels.
All pictures can be found here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/79082624@N08/albums/72157662758898872
The sale includes the following:
The groupset is in a mint condition. Overall there are just a few scratches, as you can see in the pictures.
Everything runs silky smooth. The wheels are straight and run like they just came out of the factory. The rim doesn't show much sign of wear. Most of the sidewalls is still black!
Personally really like the brakes of this groupset. The "big" looking brakes are certainly an eye catcher. The brake shoes nearly don't show signs of wear. The BB is also in a very good condition, just a few scratches on one side.
I think the Casette that comes with the groupset is still original. It only shows little rust spots. Looks like it is barely used.
The groupset comes with two seatposts, so you can use which one you would like.
SOLD!
If you have a question, feel free to ask me anything.
