  • Turbowolf - Two Hands

  • Floating Points

    This

  • @Iceflame - interesting top 10.

I thought I was the only one into VH$. But I recon their cassette only release of Hi Wire on the Betamax label was the best thing they did this year.

  • Is this thread about stamp collecting?

  • Sleaford Mods - Key Markets
Guy Garvey - Courting the Squall
Moon Duo - Shadow of the Sun
    Gaz Coombs - Matador
    Low - Ones and Sixes

  • Always been a fan of Paul Heatons various work but i really didnt enjoy that album, made me cringe a little bit. One or two great tracks but some were a bit cheesy for me.

  • Just had a listen to Sun O)) as thats the first time i'd heard of them, him, her. That's dark.

  • Nah it's great, essentially just sounds like an even more bitter continuation of The Beautiful South. Don't like the opening song but The Austerity of Love, I Don't See Them and Sundial in the Shade are fantastic. Would say the LP before it is better, mind.

  • I'll give it another listen.

  • The new album is quite lighthearted for them...

  • Its quite genuinely nightmarish, i've never heard anything like it. It's really piqued my curiosity and fascination, i just can't imagine the cicumstance where i think i really want to listen to a bit of industrial white noise. Maybe on the turbo before a time trial, though a bit of Sleaford Mods' anger will do the trick there.

Edit, i just watched Sunn's Brando video with Scott Walker (that's an incongruous collab). I'm a bit disturbed. Still, better to be disturbing than mundane. I'm pleased with this discovery, ta very much.

  • Adele - '25'

  • I feel sad, I've never heard of any of these people apart from Adele, Ghostface Killah and Ryan Adams.

  • Only a few for me this year I got into LP wise

Wolf Alice - My love is cool
    New Order - Music Complete
    Gaz Coombes - Matador
    Deepchord - Ultraviolet Music
    Levon Vincent - Levon Vincent
    Roots Manuva - Bleeds

  • Love that new Roots Manuva album, should have put that on my list.

  • Here's my short list:

    Cult Leader: Lightless Walk
    Loma Prieta: Self Portrait
    Sumac: The Deal
    Noisem: Blossoming Decay
    Fight Amp: Constantly Off

Looking forward to Seven Sisters of Sleep and Magrudergrind next year

  • Bit of an underwhelming year TBH...

    Kamasi Washington - The Epic
This record takes it by a LONG SHOT.

    Others:

Kendrick Lamar - To Pimp a Butterfly
Floating Points - Elaenia (a little disappointing but worth a mention)
    Roisin Murphey - Hairless Toys

  • Haven't listened to anything like it for years, but that Sunn O))) album is doing things for me.

  • I've had a terrible year for new music. Doing all the playing and none of the listening. Must try harder next year.
I'm going to start by checking out everything listed here.

Oh, the new Battles record is great. The new Bjork is Bjork.
