Need your help to identify the frameset !

  • This frame is a puzzle to me. It has no name so far but I believe it is something special. Dropouts are campagnolo. Please take a look at fork crown! It is thin and rounded towards head tube. I have never seen such a fork before. All the lugs have similar motive. Shifters pivots are placed asimmetrically, right is a bit higher than left.

Enough writing, please see the pictures:

  • Maybe you know who can help me to identify the frame? Maybe you know which bikes has asimmetric downtube shifting pivots?

  • Look like Bocama Competition 78 lugs, bottom bracket looks like a drilled out Roto. All smacks of Dutch to me with a whiff of Gazelle although I'd need more photos of the other bits of the frame. The downtube bosses look just plain wrong, like they were added incorrectly. What are the threadings?

  • Hi, thanks for quick reply! BB threading is british. Please notice unique fork crown slide. The frame had decals Grunewald. Is it bike builder and so the answer? I have not heard before about Grunewald.

  • Wim Grunewald, German framebuilder... seems possible - it is not a Gazelle with those seatstays or cut outs on the headtube lugs near headset cups... (wonky dt bosses on the other hand are sadly a Gazelle trait but all part of the charm!)

    Cheers,
    Matt
