Glasgow to Philippines

Ok so crazy long shot on help here. ideas plus advice would be hugely appreciated.

My good friend and I are a bit mad and after a few good glasses of wine came up with a plan to ride out to the Philippines where my parents are based. At the moment we have not entirely committed to it but want to settle on a decision pretty soon. We'd be looking at early May as a start date. Back in time for uni etc.

Neither of us have bikes even anywhere near equipped to do this and we would be building from scratch so any help on bikes would be hugely appreciated. we would like to spend under a grand each to allow us money for accessories like racks etc.

Route, visas, weather and anything you could think of just jump in. If you know anyone who has undertaken massive rides or have done so yourself then input is massive for us. We have a track record of being ridiculously disorganised and reckless however i feel this might not be the time or adventure to act in such a manner so trying to extract the most amount information out of folk will be important to planning and vital to our journey.

And yeah.... if it goes ahead be sure ill keep everyone posted!

Have a google for Josh Cunningham or coshjunningham (I think) on Instagram, he's currently undertaking a similar route. Judging by his pictures, if you go where he's been it will be fantastic.

Don't worry. I've got it already.
No unfortunately I don't have colin with me although he is seriously jealous and might come ride part of it with me but who knows. Who is coming with is a big question and for how long etc however for now I am just planning for a solo journey. I'm up to date on josh cunninghams blog posts after reading through his old ones and his route is pretty sweet. He drops down onto Vietnam too which is where I'm headed so makes sense.
