Seeing as a flat mount fork will still require an adapter, why don't you just use their standard post mount? I can't see any mechanical or aesthetic reasons not to, really.
And here's an idea for you: Get the adapter painted to match the fork and it will look super clean. -

Future proofing- I assume.

Perhaps I'm missing something regarding a flat mount fork and how it differs to post mount.
Aesthetically I imagined flat mount would be better looking and wouldn't require an adapter if it were to be used with a flat mount hydraulic disc system.
P.S. That was the plan with the paint too (if we go down the adapter route)!

flat mount requires the bolts to go into the caliper from underneath. so unless you have holes straight through the fork leg, you have to bolt the caliper to the adapter and then the adapter to the fork.
It's probably cool for rear calipers, but I honestly think it's inferior for (carbon) forks. (post mount is a bad enough idea in itself, but that's another story...) -

doesn't exist yet along with aftermarket direct mount brake .. sad I know.
Talk to someone at Genesis they might sell you the Datum fork. I know Dom at Mason does; not sure if thats flat mount though.
Matt has developed an awesome steel fork at Talbot: https://instagram.com/p/8yMETTw81w/?taken-by=talbot_frameworks

Thanks mate.
Ultimately the aim is trying, as far as possible, to future proof.
I'll see what Genesis are saying...

Might be better if Field talk to genesis directly ..

Yeah you may be right mate.
I'll have very little sway haha.
My Field custom project is coming along but I have hit a small stumbling block.
Enve, whose components I will predominantly use on the custom, do not make a flat mount road disc fork.
This leaves me with a conundrum (given that there is no ETA on their flat mount fork) - wait for an undefined period of time for them to pull their finger out or...explore alternatives.
I favour the latter and, to that end, does anyone know of any of the better carbon fork producers making a flat mount road disc fork?
Thinking @amey , @Dammit , etc may have some pointers as the internet isn't giving me much...
