Did you post using a trackable service?

Providing you've tracked the item to eBay's international shipping centre in Derbyshire, surely it's not your problem after that?

That's the retarded thing. Time limit on 'days to dispatch' hadn't timed out; let alone the 3-5 days it would have taken to get to Normanton - shipping by the advertised method, after that the eBay noddy's would have shipped it onto Spain [if it's anything like the parcels that come from this US by this method, the time scale for this would likely be a couple of weeks].
No money lost, but guy flamed me with feedback that doesn't reflect the actuality of things [after opening a case so early, I wasn't going to sent over £250 worth of wheels to him]; especially as he has previous doing the same thing.
Not a biggie, just a pain up the arse sorting out and a waste of time

Sounds like this buyer had unrealistic expectations of shipping times. Even in the UK, I give it 7 days from when the item is marked as dispatched before I make enquiries.

Yep; and am doubting that you would jump to raise a case...
Even if I'm being precious about this, I would be careful about people like this and also the eBay international shipping programme.

Best not to get too worked up about these things. The vast majority of eBayers I have dealt with, both as buyer and seller have been absolutely no problem. There are always a few idiots.

Shenanigans and fuck ebay threads >>>>
But also, it shouldn't be possible for them to open a claim so quickly. I opted out of the international postage scheme to avoid the stress. Option is a little hidden though.
I waited nearly a week for a guy to send something recently. Sent a polite "hi, have you sent this yet?" he replied he'd totally forgotten, apologised, and said he'd post the next day. No harm done.
A few months ago I was away as my auctions ended, clearly stated I'd post on return (still within the three working days). I sent by first class even though they paid for second. Lost a few quid but hey, all items arrived within 7 days of auction end. One user sent me a shitty message when I sent a courtesy "all ok?" kinda message. "First class but late". I asked them to clarify, of course, they didn't.
Have had a bad experience recently with an ebay member 'oiramgrande'; based in Spain, buys items that are shipped through International Shipping Programme, then claims non-receipt.
I would recommend that if you are selling cycling items on ebay that you put this user in your blocked buyers list.
