  • Hi all,

stunning Woodrup track bike I'd like to sell please.

Size is 54cm top-tube (centre to centre) and 54cm seat-tube (centre to top)
Absolutely no dents or cracks, a very few smaller scratches and a very small amount of surface rust on the frame. The rust patches are only noticeable when you are really looking for them but I wanted to mention them as well.. they are there.

Quite a nice story behind this.. I purchased this off the original owner a while back, he visited Woodrup to get sized up, choose colour of the frame etc. He then took it to Leedhams cycles in Leicester and had the mechanic build it up with brand new parts, including building the wheels. The same mechanic maintained this bike all the way through its life. The bike had roughly 2 years of use on the track every other weekend in the summer and was then covered in light oil and placed under a cover and stored high in a workshop since then.

Really is a nice little time warp, tyres, chain and bar-tape are all original to the build. Only thing I did was remove the seat-post and stem to lubricate (they already had grease) but just wanted to add some more.

This bike has never been used on the road but the owner did have the frame drilled for front and rear brake should he ever want to use it on the road. Again, all done by the same mechanic at Leedhams.

I've given it a clean but this would really benefit from some GT85 and a toot-brush on the crank arms, chainrings etc to get some of the old grease off. Seat-post and stem could also do with a little polishing.

Rear tub holds pressure but front doesn't. Spokes are quite corroded and could do with some tension work.

    After £500 posted please

  • how much for just the frame? pm me pls? thank you!

  • Not splitting a completely original bike I'm afraid

  • It's dead nice. That saddle's a cracker.

  • Exceptionally nice! Hope it finds a good home.

  • gonna try persuade a mate on this one, bootifil

  • Thanks all!

I know once this is sold I don't really have a say in this but I'd really, really like someone to keep it as is..

  • Could post it in here? Perhaps someone will want to use it on the boards?

  • Link doesn't work!

  • Wow that is a beautiful bike... It'd take me two months to save up enough for that.

  • Is it still for sale though?

  • It is still for sale!

It's not the cheapest of bikes so if someone wanted to pay for it weekly/monthly and have me realise it once final payment was made I'd be happy to do that. I keep it hung on 'me wall so it can stay for a while.

  • Okay, well what's the wheel size?

  • 700c :)

  • I think it's a fair price and would have snapped it, but someone and something inside me, says I shouldn't...

  • Lovely bike, I'm a huge fan of Woodrup.

Unless I'm mistaken those are tubs so 622 iso, but not 700c (the c stands for clincher)

  • but not 700c (the c stands for clincher)

Is this true? What about 650b? A 700c wheel is the same size whether its a tub or clincher

  • Really? I've got tubs that say 700c and would fit this perfectly?

  • Hes making it up

  • I stand corrected. I have been labouring under that misapprehension for many years. Can't remember who told me!

Weirdly I have about 12 sets of tubs and none of the tyres are labelled 700c, which just reinforced it for me.

  • (the c stands for clincher)

    Amazing.

    What about 650b?

    Stand for bloated, dont'cha know?

  • Turns it's not just me being completely wrong: http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=121161

Anyway... nice Woodrup, someone should buy it!

  • It's a ring toss game!
